Top Fluctuation (TF) provides the highest fixed odds prices fluctuate from the moment you place the bet until the race begins. The Australian Pricing Network (APN) provides the key price movements for each horse in a race, with the highest fluctuating price referred to as the “Top Fluc” price. These bets must be placed 30 minutes prior to the advertised start time of a race. Depending on the bookmaker you engage with, there may be additional conditions like all Top Fluc bets must be placed before 12:00pm AEST.
Advantages
- Punters can benefit from higher odds that may occur as prices adjust after they have placed their bets.
- It eliminates the need for punters to monitor and chase the highest possible price, simplifying the betting process.
Disadvantages
- APN prices may not represent the best odds available from Australian bookmakers. Rather, they serve as a reference point for how the market evolves.
- Bookmakers may offer odds higher than those listed by the APN if they intend to attract bets on a particular horse, or conversely, offer lower odds if they believe a horse’s price is too high relative to its actual chances of winning the race.
