Macroeconomics is the branch of economics that is concerned with large-scale or general economic factors, such as interest rates and national productivity, which affects the broader economy as a whole. It studies the economy on both a national and international level, using both economic data and variables to model the economy and to study the economy-wide phenomena such as price levels, national income, inflation, gross domestic product (GDP), unemployment and price levels.
